NACLO 2015 January 29 (Thursday morning) 9-noon

The North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad will take place Thursday morning January 29, 2015. The location is still being finalized but will likely be at UWM (EMS E-250 at 3200 N. Cramer St.).
Please consider participating — no experience or background is necessary, and we had a top 20 finisher last year. We are trying to arrange for representatives from local industries to speak about career opportunities in computational linguistics after the contest, over lunch.
For more information, contact naclomilwaukee2013 (sorry, using a previous year’s address) @ gmail.com
Register for the contest at http://www.nacloweb.org .

We’re all excited to bring you NACLO today.
Any NACLO participant who is able to, we encourage you to attend a private showing of the Tolkien exhibit that will focus on the linguistic aspects of Marquette’s Tolkien archives.
The showing will take place at 1:00 pm in the Special Collections area of Marquette’s Raynor Library at 1355 W. Wisconsin Avenue.
Best wishes, and keep track of your registration number (which you will receive at the door)!

NACLO 2014 what to bring: important

NOTE:
You will be writing with BLACK PEN so that the pages can be scanned legibly. Please bring your own BLACK PEN(s).
If you can bring your own CORRECTION TAPE or correction fluid, that would be greatly appreciated.

The host sites will be providing blank paper to use as scratch paper.

You may bring a quiet snack such as a banana or seedless clementine (no crunchy wrappers please!).

Your teacher will give instructions if you should bring something for lunch.
